Kalachakra mandala
Kal means time and chakra means wheel. This mandala represents wheel of time. Buddhist believes that time itself is an illusion, but relatively we can understand that every things are impermanent and destructible. A representation of this mandala is used by a practitioner of the Kalachakra Tantra for the purpose of visualizing in meditation. The every aspect of the Mandala has meaning, nothing is superfluous. As part of his or her training, a practitioner develops the power of meditative concentration to be able to visualize not only every details of the mandala, but also of the deities present within it.
kalachakra mandala is geometric, in the middle we can see pyramidical rising diagram which represents palace of kalachakra deity. there are five elements represented by five outer circles fire, space, land, water and atmosphere. Elements also represent the nature of phenomena being impermanent. The idea of kalachakra is that through meditaion and practice one can realize the phenomena being empty and impermanent which leads one to reach to the level of complete buddhahood.
